CONFERENCES 2007

Juan Antín presented a work progress on his new full-length film produced in stop motion: 'Los Dioses de Lata' ['Tin Gods'], which will start shooting in 2008. Its aesthetics is based upon Pre-Columbian Art, Incan Art, and Northern Argentine Art. The puppets in this full-length film are made of simulated clay..

Animator Oscar Desplats President of the Argentine Association of Animation Cinema (AACA), made reference to the 90th anniversary of 'El Apóstol' ['The Apostle'], the first full-length animation film in the world made in Argentina by Italian filmmaker Quirino Cristiani (1917). Also shown were the short films received by the AACA and coming from Bosnia, Sarajevo, and the school of Rosario.

The last conference, given by the prestigious cartoonist Caloi and his wife and event Director, María Verónica, was concerned with 'independent animation' and presentation of the show 'Caloi en su tinta', which shows the views of different independent artists in relation to one and the same subject.

OFICIAL PRESENTATION

On October 23, 2007 ExpoToons was officially presented at the Marriott Plaza Hotel .
Since 10 a.m. and throughout the whole day, a large group of attendants enjoyed the showing of animation short films, animated advertisements and series, both national and international ones.
There were also different conferences of 'Caloi en su Tinta', Juan Antin and Oscar Desplast and, at the end, there was an ExpoToons 2008, Launch Cocktail Party, attended by a large number of people from the advertising, film, and Animation media, such as the renowned artist and producer Manuel García Ferré. 
The event brought together all of the players in the Animation-centered industry..
