What does Expotoons consist of?
Expotoons is the International Animation Festival most representative of the region and a breakthrough event in the world. At Expotoons Festival you can get to know the highlights of animation, as well as exchange tendencies, train in animation techniques, make businesses and interact with the main professionals, production houses, broadcasters and distribution companies in Latin America and the world. It includes different activities: SCREENINGS, ANIMATION MARKET, EXHIBITION FAIR, OFFICIAL COMPETITION, CONFERENCES, TRAINING, and ESPECIAL EVENTS.
Who can attend?
The attendants' profile is quite broad, since Expotoons offers activities for all profiles. We expect top officers from software and technology companies, TV stations, films studios, production houses, artists, technicians, videogames creators, advertising professionals, distributors, public authorities, associations, teachers, students and animation fans.
Where are the different activities going to be held?
The venues for the 4th edition are:
Hotel Madero (Member of the WORLDHOTELS DELUXE COLLECTION): Rosario Vera Peñaloza 360 – Puerto Madero, Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Cinemark 8 Puerto Madero: Av. Alicia Moreau de Justo 1920 – Puerto Madero, Buenos Aires, Argentina.
At the Hotel there will be held Conferences, Training, Jury deliverance for the Official Competition, Exhibitors Fair and special events. At the Cinemark theatres will be held Screenings, Conferences and special events.
The Festival program print will contain directions for each activity.
How much does it cost to participate of Expotoons' different activities?
There are 4 types of accreditations, each one includes one personal and non-transferable pass to different activities of Expotoons. Accreditation types are detailed here. Choose and download the most suitable for your profile.
How can I pay for my accreditation?

Can STUDENTS participate in Expotoons?
Of course! For them we created the STUDENTS ACCREDITATION , which includes a pass to International Conferences, Screenings and Training Conferences. You can purchase it for one, two or all three days of the Festival. Student credential is required for this option.
Who are speakers at Expotoons' conferences program?
You will be able to get to know the speakers visiting the web section CONFERENCES.
How can I participate attend the Training Conferences?
Any Expotoons Accreditation allows you to attend the Training conferences and activities.

OFFICIAL COMPETITION
When in the deadline for submission of entries?
You can submit your entry until SEPTEMBER 30th 2010. If you've registered online before this deadline with the required data, Expotoons will wait for your material to arrive up to 2 more weeks past deadline, at best.
Which are de competing categories?
Official Competition categories are:
1. Feature Film: films with a running time of over 60 minutes.
2. Short Film: films with a running time under 60 minutes, which are not part of a series.
3. Advertising Film (commercial)
4. TV Series: Trailer and 1 Chapter are required
5. Graduation Short Films: film schools' final productions
Who can compete?
Production houses, independent animators, films studios, advertising agencies, students and more. The Competition is open to films made in any animation technique finished by film or digital mediums. All works must have been finished after January 1st, 2008. The Festival Selection Committee reserves the right to accept, in any exceptional circumstances, a production finished before the stated date, due to special importance brought to the Festival.

Is there an entrance fee?
There is no entrance fee for competing films. Selected films will be entitled to appear in the Festival Official Catalogue, including: Still, Synopsis and Technical Specifications of the submitted film. Contestants will be responsible for shipment expenses.
How can I know if the form I filled in online was successfully registered?
Please pay attention and see whether after hitting the "send" button you read this line: 'Thanks for your completion. We've received your application'. BUT when you are filling up the online registration form for the OFFICIAL COMPETITION, it may happen that other people are registering at the same time, and therefore the system could fail to take your registration. So if you can read the line, your registration is completed. If you can't, please try again later!
And don't forget at the end, to save and print the form, to enclose it when you mail the material.
How can I know if my film turns out to be selected?
The list of selected films will be published in the ‘Official Competition' section of this website, in November.
Who are the members of the Jury?
The Official Juries will be comprised of distinguished national and international professionals, all of them with recognized careers in the fields of animation, arts, TV, movies and media. As we invite them, you can know their names in the JURY section.
ANIMATION MARKET
What does the Animation Market of Expotoons 2010 consist of?
Expotoons Animation Market has become a focus point for professionals from all over the world. Creators, animators, producers, distributors, broadcasters and buyers meet here to share business spaces and exchange experiences, through three activities included:
WiP: Work In Progress. Pitching sessions for animation projects in late development phase. (Note: Only the best 10 selected projects will be pitched).
Workshops – "30 minutes with…". World luminaries of audiovisual industry talk about optimization for the different stages in animation production and commercialization. Limited seating.
3rd. International Round of Animation Business. One-to-one meetings between potential buyers and sellers.

How can I register to participate in the Animation Market?
Downloading and completing the BUSINESS Accreditation, and submitting this form and all required info to inscripciones@expotoons.com . This Accreditation option includes the possibility of participating in the three sections mentioned before.
How can my project participate of the pitching sessions in the Market's WiP section?
A selection of animation projects will be pitched in front of a committee of potential buyers and opinion leaders from core markets. Projects submitted must be in late development phase. A Special Committee will select a number a projects, and the best 10 will be pitched.
Requirements for project registration will include:
Business Accreditation and WiP FORM, along with the required data, must be mailed to inscripciones@expotoons.com
When is the project registration deadline?
Project registration and submission deadline is SEPTEMBER 30th 2010 (final deadline).
How many projects may my company submit for WiP's pitching sessions?
There will be admitted up to 3 (three) projects per company.
